We created a story board, and then went and recreated some of the pictures on it to test the different camera angles out, and to make sure they look good for next week when we will be filming.

Preliminary Task
Our first task is a continuity task involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom she/he then exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue.
I'm working with Ben and Lydia, these two are the main actors and I am mainly using the camera, but I have a few lines to say also, when Lydia will be recording. After we have filmed this short video, we will make sure we have used a variety of camera angles to make it more interesting. After that, we will upload it to our computer and start with the editing.
This task should show us demonstrating the use of 'Match on action'- which is cutting between shots to make it seem like one continuous action, 'Shot/reverse shot'- when a character is looking at another character, and then the other character is shown looking back, then finally the '180-degree rule'- which is when the camera cannot pass an individual axis on 180-degrees.
I will keep you updated with how we're doing, see you soon!:)

Practice shots
This is another picture we took to practice using the camera. This is a close up, this shot shows how the boy is feeling and gets emotion across effectively.
Practice shots
This was one of our first lessons in media at my school and we was testing out all different camera angles out. this is a low shot and makes this boy look larger than he is showing that he is more powerful and greater to the girl lower down.

AS Media Introductory Post
Hiya,
My name is Rae Griffiths and I'm currently studying Media at AS level. I'm new to this subject, so I'm really looking forward to the next two years and seeing what the subject has to offer. I have never used editing software or anything really to do with this subject. I enjoy watching films, but I don't really know how they're made and developed, so I'm excited to see how this is done.
I will be posting regularly on this blog about what I've been doing in this subject, also, towards the end of the year I will be posting my 2 minute film opening with my group.
bye for now!
Rae:)
